Emak is a rich, agricultural world with improving living conditions due to a bustling agro-economy.

  • As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
  • This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
  • This world is rich with high-grade living conditions, a good climate, and a non-harmful environment. Immigration registration for this world is always in high demand.
  • This a "low technology" world with technology competency well below technology standards for Charted Space.
  • It is a member of the Esaran Cultural Area in the Farin Subsector of Halcyon Sector.
  • 100% of the population is made up of Esaran.

System Data[edit]

Pelland-Emak System[edit]

The primary is Pelland, an ordinary white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 5.34 Sols, a mass of 1.46 Sols and a diameter of 2.115 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum inner world, and (III) a dense atmosphere ocean-covered bigworld – orbital position (II) is empty. (IV) Emak orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (V) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (VI) a large gas giant, (VII) a ringed large gas giant, (VIII) a small gas giant, (IX) a vacuum iceworld, and (X) a trace atmosphere iceworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds in the system retain satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(IV) Emak[edit]

(IV) Emak is designated the mainworld. It orbits Pelland at a mean distance of 1.06 AU (158.5 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 329 days 22 hours and a rotation period of 27.5 hours. The axial tilt is 15 degrees. Emak has a diameter 14,622 km, a density of 5.85 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 1.22 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, with a mean surface pressure of 1.87 bar and a composition of 79% nitrogen (N2), 20% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 64% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.5m. Mean surface temperature: 31°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and strong weather systems driven by the star scour the surface. The climate is seasonal.

Emak retains two natural satellites, an ice-capped vacuum worldlet named Hatha and a very thin atmosphere hospitable world named Paar:

(IVa) Hatha (UWP Y301000-0, orbiting Emak at 25 Diameters/365,000 km)
(IVb) Paar (UWP Y532000-0, orbiting Emak at 35 Diameters/512,000 km)

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

Total surface area: 672 million km², Water surface area: 430 million km², Land surface area: 242 million km²

Native Lifeforms[edit]

The warm ocean-covered bigworld lying in orbital position (III) (within the H– region of the inner system) has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

Emak, the mainworld, has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

  • Paar, Emak's temperate hospitable moon, has primitive native life, consisting almost entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in most ecological niches. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

No information yet available.

World starport[edit]

Emak has a routine quality starport.

  • A Class-C Starport Facility has minimal if any shipyards and can only perform extremely limited repair work.
  • This facility has many very skilled personnel who can perform surprisingly sophisticated repair work despite the limited facilities.
  • This facility has refueling infrastructure and limited refining capabilities. One may purchase unrefined fuel here.
  • Starports of this class rarely have both a Lowport and a Highport.

World technology level[edit]

Emak possesses a Technology Level of TL–4.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone and telegraphs, widespread printing.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early electricity, hydrocarbon internal combustion.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Trains and early automobiles.
    • Water: Clippers and steam ships.
    • Air: Dirigibles, balloons, very basic rockets.

World government[edit]

Emak has a Balkanized government.

  • No central ruling authority exists. Rival governments compete for control.
  • The typical power source of this government is a Balkanization.
  • The typical power structure of this government is a Confederation (Anarchy).
