D'Artur has a population between 10,000 and 10 million sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Remnants Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. D'Artur, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world has a nearby Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships. During the Long Night this world was named Emirkushguur.

Astrography and planetology[edit]

The world of D'Artur itself is a huge, high gravity world with a dense, elliptical atmosphere. The atmosphere produces a dense, almost impenetrable cloud cover blocking the view of the surface.

History and background[edit]

The surface is off limits to all but cleared naval personnel. In the recent past the navy have shot down non-military ships attempting to land. The reason for the localized Red Zone classification and the Navy's aggressive pursuit of secrecy has remained a mystery. The Imperial Navy have refused point blank to comment on why the world is off-limits.

The naval base is situated on Morte, the satellite of D'Artur. The satellite is the site of the only permanent surface habitation in the system. The remaining population lives in structures floating high in the dense atmosphere and above the clouds,

D'Artur is the unofficial duchy capital of Remnants. The current duke Stefan de Bere-Owstrowski, like nearly every previous duke for the last five hundred years, is a high ranking serving officer with the Imperial Navy.
