History[edit]
The County of Efate was created before 629. As part of the Regina Cluster, the worlds of this county were originally part of the greater Border County of Regina which owed allegiance to the Duchy of Rhylanor. The creation of the Duchy of Regina in 629 saw this greater County broken up into three smaller counties, the Regina Core County becoming part of the core worlds of the newly created Duchy of Regina, and the County of Efate now owing allegiance to the newly appointed Duke of Regina. The Count of Efate was made a minor Duke in 780 (Border Duke of Efate, First Creation) in order to oversee the coreward Imperial border of the Duchy of Regina as Count of Efate and Duke of the Border. The County and Border Duchy passed to the Emperor in the early 800s on the death of Lord Miles Alan Charndon, the sitting Border Duke.
A subsequent independent Creation of the title of Count of Efate for the County of Efate by the Emperor was followed by an independent 2nd Creation of the title of Duke of the Border, establishing two new and separate noble lines. (Date unknown)
The current dynasty for the County of Efate is independent of the Border Duchy of Efate (the Border Duke of Efate, Second Creation).
